XRF analysers for art works and paintings

ELVATECH designed an XRF analyzer specifically for art analysis. It is known that paints differ significantly over time and the same color can have different chemical composition.

ELVATECH analysers can be used in various applications. In addition to that, all the instruments can be customized and calibrated for special tasks:
– Metals and alloys
– rocks and minerals
– Precious metals in minerals
– Environmental control
– RoHS and WEEE
– Archeology
– Geology exploration
– Analysis of oxides
– Soil analysis
– Forensics
– Car catalysts
– Thickness of coatings
– Petrochemicals
An XRF analyzer works by emitting a beam of X-ray radiation from its front side, which interacts with the atoms of the sample being tested. This interaction results in the release of energy, and the analyzer identifies the element where the energy loss occurs. Each element has a unique energy loss pattern in the fluorescence process, enabling the XRF analyzer to accurately determine the composition of the sample. If you’re looking for a portable analyzer to identify elements quickly and accurately, consider the XRF analyzer.
  1. The technology of irradiating samples with high-energy x-radiation from a controlled tube is highly unique. This enables the identification of elements and their quantities in solid or liquid samples based on their unique characteristic “fingerprint”.
  2. XRF is especially sensitive to metallic elements, from Ti to U on the periodic table, making it a valuable tool for precious metals analysis and coating thickness analysis on metallic and non-metallic substrates.
  3. Portable XRF analyzers are powerful and lightweight, providing laboratory-quality results in just a few seconds, even under demanding field conditions. This is much faster than traditional lab checking methods that take several days or weeks.
  4. Handheld analyzers can quickly provide geochemical data for anomalous zone delineation and in-depth analysis of metal concentration for geochemical mapping, reducing lead time and benefiting businesses.
  5. XRF technology is very versatile and can function accurately without any sample preparation. Handheld analyzers can be used for point and shoot operations, although sample preparation may still be necessary depending on the application and acceptable accuracy.
  6. XRF technology is continuously improving, such as with the analysis of light elements, leading to even faster and more accurate results.
