Introduction

ELVATECH CANADA LTD. is an NRCan Accepted Training Organization (ATO) providing XRF certification courses and examinations under the CAN/CGSB-48.9712 standard.

Eligibility Requirements

Please review the following before completing your registration:

1. You have never applied for or attempted the NRCan XRF examination before. ✅ Eligible.
2. You are due for recertification. ✅ Eligible.
3. You were previously or recently unsuccessful on an examination. ❌ Not eligible without written authorization from NRCan NDTCB. Candidates must ensure they are authorized to re-attempt and may not be permitted to write the same examination version again.
4. Your certification is still valid and not close to expiry. ❌ Not eligible for examination.
5. You are only due for renewal. ❌ Not eligible for examination.
6. Your certification has expired but you are still eligible for renewal. ❌ Not eligible for examination.

Exam Rules

• The examination is closed book.
• Time limit is 90 minutes.
• Passing grade is 70%.
• Most questions are focused on radiation safety.
• Candidates may not communicate with each other during the examination.
• Candidates may be removed for misconduct or violation of examination rules.

Prohibited Items

The following items are not permitted during the examination:

• Cell phones
• Smart watches
• Notes
• AI tools
• Any electronic devices

Video Monitoring & Security

The examination session may be monitored or recorded for security, audit, and NRCan compliance purposes.

Required Documents

Each participant must bring:

• Two Canadian passport-style photos (dated and stamped by the photo provider)
• Government-issued photo ID
• Required NRCan forms (if applicable)
• Credit card for NRCan certification fees

Preparation Booklet

All candidates must download and review the NRCan XRF Preparation Booklet Version 5 before the course and examination.
