Development of the SORBIONEX™ Gold Analysis Platform in Canada

ELVATECH CANADA LTD. is proud to announce the launch of a new research and development initiative aimed at advancing rapid, field-based gold analysis technology across Canada’s mining and exploration sectors.

As the official Canadian distributor of Elvatech Ltd., a leading manufacturer of X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers from Ukraine, our company is committed not only to supplying advanced analytical instruments, but also to driving innovation in elemental analysis through strategic R&D projects.

What is SORBIONEX™?

SORBIONEX™ is a breakthrough analytical platform developed by our European partners Meffalab Oy and Alzymologist Oy (Finland). It combines sorbent-based sample preparation with portable XRF analysis, enabling rapid detection of gold and other critical raw materials in solid samples — even in the field. The method achieves detection limits of ≤ 0.1 ppm Au, a milestone for field-based elemental analysis.

Why Bring This Technology to Canada?

Canada is a global leader in mineral exploration and resource development. However, traditional lab-based testing can delay decision-making and increase costs for exploration teams.

Our objective is to adapt and validate the SORBIONEX™ platform under real Canadian field conditions, making it a valuable tool for geologists, mining companies, and environmental specialists. We are currently engaging with organizations such as SGS Canada to perform local testing on Canadian ore samples.

Our Role in the Project

ELVATECH CANADA LTD. is directly investing in this technology through:

  • Contracted expertise from former ELVATECH R&D engineers
  • Integration of Canadian-designed robotic automation systems (sample-handling tables)
  • Collaboration with industry and research partners across Canada

We aim to establish a dedicated application and development lab in British Columbia by early 2026, where ongoing research and validation will take place. This initiative will also support the potential development of new intellectual property (IP) registered under ELVATECH CANADA LTD., based on local applications and enhancements of the core technology.
